The purpose of the SCW is to foster the fellowship of woodcarvers through regularly held meetings of the SCW, promote an understanding and appreciation of the art of woodcarving in all its forms, assist persons desiring to learn or improve their skills in woodcarving and, to stimulate young people’s interest in the art.
